What sits inside BJE100

We stock BJE100 at SuperPharmacyPlus in BergaMet Advanced (AUST L 375467), which contains 500 mg of Citrus Bergamot (BJE100) per tablet. Three components make up the extract as described:

• ✓The full polyphenol profile of BPF99: every polyphenol found in the earlier extract carries across rather than being replaced
• ✓A branch of amino acids
• ✓Soluble fibre

The amino acids and soluble fibre are additions to the polyphenol base, not substitutions for it. That distinction matters when comparing the two extracts: BJE100 is not a different recipe, it is the BPF99 polyphenol profile with two further components alongside it.

What the two additions bring

The amino acids and soluble fibre are described as collectively enhancing the benefits of the extract. That phrasing is worth reading carefully, because it says something specific: the enhancement is attributed to the two additions working together with the polyphenol base, rather than to either one performing a separate, identifiable job.

Two things follow from that, and we would rather be straight about them than fill the gaps.

For anyone wanting that level of detail, BergaMet is the source to approach, since it sits with the manufacturer rather than with the product information available to us.

How BJE100 compares to BPF99

BJE100 retains all of BPF99's polyphenols while adding a branch of amino acids and soluble fibre as additional components. BJE100 has proven to be twice as effective as BPF99 and has six times the antioxidant count of BPF99, which results in a more potent extract.

We would note that these two figures are stated separately from the composition description. The amino acids and soluble fibre are said to collectively enhance the extract's benefits, but the twice-as-effective and six-times-antioxidant figures are not attributed to those additions specifically. So we can report both facts, but not the causal link between them, because it is not one that has been drawn.

Where BJE100 sits in the tablet

Because the amino acids and soluble fibre sit within the 500 mg of BJE100 rather than being listed separately, they are not broken out as their own line on the ingredient panel.

Olive leaf extract has been shown to have cardioprotective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-angiogenic and neuroprotective functions. Alpha lipoic acid is an antioxidant, and antioxidants protect against damage to the body's cells. Ascorbic acid is necessary for the growth, development and repair of all body tissues. Zinc is needed for the proper growth and maintenance of the human body, including immune function, wound healing, blood clotting and thyroid function.

How BJE100 was developed

BJE100 is BergaMet's new patented Citrus Bergamot extract, developed over the past two years by the company's scientific and research team in Italy. BergaMet describes it as the most significant bergamot extract to date.

A recent double blind randomised study at a university in Italy indicated that BergaMet Advanced is more effective than BergaMet Pro+, BergaMet's physician quality product. The measure used in that study is not specified, so it is best understood as a comparison against another BergaMet product rather than as evidence for a particular outcome.

In summary

The amino acids and soluble fibre in BJE100 are additions to a polyphenol base that is carried over in full from BPF99, and they are described as collectively enhancing the benefits of the extract.
