Medical Tapes: Frequently Asked Questions
Paper tapes such as Micropore, silicone tapes such as Micropore S, and skin-sensitive fabric tapes such as Fixomull Skin Sensitive are designed to be gentler on skin. If your skin reacts to tape, talk to our pharmacists.
Both are non-woven fabric tapes used to hold dressings in place, and both stretch to move with the skin. Choose by width and roll length, or ask our team to help you compare.
Micropore is a soft, breathable paper tape for sensitive skin and light dressings. Transpore is a clear, perforated plastic tape that holds firmly and tears easily by hand, often used for tubing.
Peel the tape slowly back over itself, low and close to the skin, while supporting the skin with your other hand. Silicone tapes are designed for gentler removal.
