UTI Service at Your Local Community Pharmacy
At SuperPharmacyPlus, we are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to our local communities in Queensland. For the past two years, we have been part of the Urinary Tract Infection Pharmacy Pilot - Queensland, an initiative that allows women to access immediate diagnosis and treatment for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs). We are delighted to announce that owing to the pilot's incredible success, this service is now a permanent fixture in our pharmacy, making healthcare more accessible for women all over Queensland.
Easy Access to Immediate Advice and Treatment
Our UTI service offers convenience and immediate access to healthcare professionals. Women can consult with our trained community pharmacists to diagnose and treat uncomplicated UTIs, inclusive of the supply of antibiotics when necessary. Our community pharmacists have undergone extensive training to provide this service, ensuring a safe and effective solution for your health concerns.
If you suspect you may be experiencing the symptoms of a UTI, simply talk to one of our experienced pharmacists to see if you are eligible for immediate treatment, or should be referred to your medical practitioner.
The Most Accessible Health Destination
With over 456 million individual patient visits each year and most pharmacies open after-hours, including weekends, community pharmacies are your most accessible health destination. Our pharmacists complete a minimum of five years of training, along with continuous professional development and specialist training to deliver the UTI service. Rest assured, you are in safe hands.
Eligibility for UTI Health Service
This service is available to non-pregnant women aged between 18-65 who are deemed to have an uncomplicated urinary tract infection. It's important to note that men will not be eligible for this service as symptoms in men do not typically indicate an uncomplicated UTI.
Treatment Options
Treatment options can include a supply of antibiotics if deemed appropriate. However, if through the screening process, you are determined not to have an uncomplicated UTI, we may refer you to a GP for further investigation.
Availability
Please note that this UTI health service is only available to our local customers who are able to visit us at our Stafford Store. If you live further away, please see the Find a Pharmacy website to see your local participating community pharmacy.
