DermaScar® effectively prevents and treats raised scars, such as hypertrophic and keloid scars, and has also been successfully used to treat scars caused by trauma, burns and surgery.

As DermaScar® is a gel, it can be easily applied to most parts of the body including the face and over joints (knees and elbows). DermaScar® forms a moisture resistant but breathable barrier, just like a “second skin”, it does not cause unsightly maceration – where the skin becomes pale, moist, wrinkled and soggy, as can occur after using an adhesive bandage over a minor cut.

Directions:
Apply DermaScar® twice daily – in the morning and evening. DermaScar® must be applied to dry, intact skin. If you have a scar from surgery, check that the wound has healed first before applying DermaScar®. This is typically 10 to 14 days after surgery. Before applying DermaScar® clean the area first with mild soap and water and then pat dry. Place a pea-size amount of gel at the tip of the scar and gently spread thinly over the affected area. A pea-size amount is enough to cover a 12cm scar. Allow the gel to dry for 1 to 2 minutes. Once dry, DermaScar® may be covered with cosmetics or sunscreen.
