Description
Chlorhexidine and Fluoride Gel is used in the treatment of dental plaque, tooth decay, persistent bad breath and gum irritation. Helps increase resistance to dental caries. Can be used in custom made trays or applied with a toothbrush.
COMPOSITION
Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.2 % w/v
Sodium Fluoride 0.0033 % w/v
ACTIONS
Chlorhexidine helps control plaque and eases localised gum irritation; Fluoride ions present are taken up by tooth structure and help to increase resistance to dental caries.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Apply gel to a toothbrush and brush teeth twice daily whilst condition persists or use as recommended by your Dentist or Pharmacist.
- To achieve full benefit from the Chlorohexidine and Fluoride keep a custom tray with Chlorofluor gel seated in the mouth for 1 hour.
PRECAUTIONS
Avoid contact with eyes.
After two weeks of continued use there is a small possibility that CHX may cause temporary, superficial staining. This only occurs on teeth where long term plaque build-up has established and will disappear if treatment is stopped. This staining is less likely to occur when brushing with the Gel and highly unlikely when using the Toothpaste due it it’s natural abrasive qualities.
To maintain an ongoing oral hygiene regime, using Chlorofluor alongside a whitening toothpaste should ensure any superficial staining does not occur.
