Zostrix HP Cream works by reducing levels of chemical ( substance P), which is involved in transmitting pain impulses to the brain. Regular application of Zostrix HP cream reduces the amount of this chemical in nearby nerve endings and thus decreases the intensity of the pain.
Warnings
Reactions Zostrix Cream may cause a brief burning feeling when applied. This burning is more common when Zostrix Cream is used less than 3 - 4 times a day or too much Zostrix Cream is used or if Zostrix Cream is applied just before or after a bath or shower.
Patients should avoid taking a hot bath/shower just before or after applying Zostrix, as it can enhance the burning sensation. Keep away from eyes. If condition worsens, seek medical advice. Tight bandages should not be applied on top of Zostrix cream.
