Insupen pen needles are equipped with Pic needles, which is the result of the “indolor experience” (pain-free technology). The reduced outer diameter, thinner walls, and lubricating treatment allow Insupen pen needles to perform a comfortable, pain-free injection. 33G Gentle: the smallest pen needle Pic has ever made. The thinnest of the range is 4 mm long and has an outer diameter of only 0.20 mm. Its thin walls allows it to penetrate easily into the skin and optimise the flow, thereby providing people with diabetes with a hassle-free and pain-free treatment. The 33G pen needle ensures a simple injection.
Technical features of the range:
- Triple sharpening to facilitate skin penetration and reduce pain.
- Lubricating treatment to reduce resistance to needle penetration.
- The larger inner diameter (Thin Wall) allows you to speed up the insulin flow, thereby reducing the time of the injection.
- The tip intended for penetrating into the insulin cartridge cap also undergoes an anti-coring treatment, which facilitates the insertion of the needle and reduces the release of fragments inside the cartridge.
IMPORTANT:
The pen needle is a sterile disposable device; therefore, it must be changed after each injection, otherwise you risk:
- inaccurate dosage. Leaving the needle on the pen between injections may alter the composition of the insulin.
- air getting into the cartridge through the needle. The air bubbles reduce the normal flow of insulin during the injection, with the consequent risk of a reduced dose of the drug.
- crystallisation of the insulin. If the needle is left on the pen, the insulin inside the pen can turn into crystals, and partially or completely obstruct the needle, thereby making the injection difficult or even impossible.
- contracting infections. Once used, the pen needle is no longer sterile.
- experiencing a more painful injection. During the injection, the lubricant on the needle is completely removed and the tip of the needle undergoes a progressive deformation, losing its original shape. Insupen pen needles comply with the Type A EN ISO 11608-2:2000 standard. This means that they are compatible with all insulin pens available on the market that also comply with this standard.
